Gareth Pugh Fall 2008
So Beyonce, or shall we say Sasha Fierce attempted to push the fashion envelope this time around in her “Diva” video rocking avant-garde couturier Gareth Pugh. Whoa! No long, gold, sequined, Mama Tina design fish tail gowns. Some say she’s switching up her game to compete with Rihanna. Some love it some hate it. I personally love that she’s come in to the knowledgeable fashion realm and I hope she keeps it up. However, I have to say Rihanna owned this year and Bey just may have been a tad bit intimidated. “I am…Sasha Fierce” did pretty well in sales, however Rihanna was able to release the same freaking album twice and for a soon third time next year. Rihanna’s singles also have more longevity. Meanwhile Beyonce, just realeased “I am… Sasha Fierce” in November and she’s already on to her 2nd or 4th single which ever way you look at it. Hmmm Sasha Fierce maybe a Sasha dud.
