Loved the Style at the 2010 Grammys!

Filed under: Beyonce, Britney Spears, Katy Perry, Keri Hilson, Lady Gaga, Miley Cyrus, Pink, Rihanna — ladolcevitainfo @ 6:33 am

To me, the Grammy Awards have been the best red carpet for style of the year. The stars came out in full force showcasing, their sexy, classy, bold, and for some just plain outrageous taste. I really didn’t have a favorite of the night, but I appreciated everyone for going all out showcasing their individuality.

Let’s start with Beyawwwnce! This look was so predictable to me. Beyonce is beautiful and I love her but if I see her in another nude, skin-tight fish tail gown, I don’t know what I’m going to do! Many of you would probably disagree, but I didn’t like the look at all. This Stephane Rolland gown looks too heavy. The pattern is unnecessary and also looks similar to an Herve. I HATE the front zipper. Also those golden glitter streaks in her hair get a big, fat FAIL from me.

Beyonce somewhat redeemed herself in this deep plunging mini Armani Prive. Her body is sick and she does the look justice!
Moving on to my girl Rih Rih and her gorgeous Elie Saab. Rihanna’s one of my fav’s, but watching her walk down the carpet in this gown reminded me of Lady Gaga’s VMA get-up. Just switch out the white for black, add tons of feathers and voila!
I’m really digging the hair and the make-up! Beautiful.
Speaking of Ms. Gaga, she looked out of this word in her orbital influenced Armani Prive! The yellow hair was a cool touch. I love how she stayed in character the whole time. Love you Gaga!
And way on the other end of the spectrum of pop icons appeared Britney Spears. I had to do a double take when I saw this. Britney, is that you? I know she’s wearing a crazy pair of Louboutin spiked heels, but with that sheer overlay on top of a full body suit, she’s giving me un-hot Grandma. P.S.-Please go back to blonde.
And the disasters kept coming. How tragic was Katy Perry? Usually I love her style, but this gown looks really cheap. It’s the wrong color and I HATE those gold appliques. She suffering from the married wife style complex already. *sigh*
Keri Hilson looked nice. I think her gown is too safe, and I wished she wold have taken a risk! But good try for a first time Grammy nom appearance.
I loved Miley’s look from head to toe. It just does something to me when a look is coordinated with colors off setting one another, such as her red tousled curls against her deep blue dress. A+ Miley!
Did you guys catch Pink’s performance? She is so brave for hanging up side down over the audience while twisting and turning. I like Pink’s look here. It’s very well put together and great matching with her make-up, hair and overall style.
As I previously mentioned, Ciara is the current muse of Givenchy, so it’s no real surprise that she selected a Ricardo Tisci’s design for the night. This was a very bold look and I respect it. Go Cici!
O wait, I lied. I DID have a favorite of the night and it was Lea Michele! She was also one of my favs at the Globes, and the SAGs so she’s on a roll! I love this dress. It is so perfect for her. One of my grave detestations is when someone who’s not really tall goes for a short dress, and it shows that the garment was not made for them. Well she avoided that problem and owns the look altogether! I’m happy the Glee actress is making big fashion statements.
Who was your favorite of the night? Answer Below.

Ciara and Rihanna Give You Bishes Couture!

Filed under: Ciara, Givenchy, Rihanna, Victor and Rolf — ladolcevitainfo @ 5:35 pm
Necole Bitchie has been really serving us the goods lately. When I saw these shots of Ciara, the current muse of Givenchy and Rihanna rocking Victor & Rolf, making their rounds about the Grammy parties, my eyes popped out of my head. First off, I didn’t even know these two got along, but I guess since neither of the two young R&B starlets albums fared too well they might have much to talk about! lol.. On to the outfits.
Check out Cici in her blush colored sheared Givenchy coat, thigh high boots and culottes? (Takes me back to 6th Grade. lol) Not the best of looks but I have to give it to her for thinking outside the box. The key to trying a unique look is to let the statement piece speak for itself and to always keep the make-up understated.

And then we have Princess Rih Rih in her Victor & Rolf! You can always expect Rihanna to wear something abnormal, but she pulls it off every time!

This shot of them was utterly hilarious to me. They look like two tulips in a vase or two bags of cotton candy.. lol. I love it! I’d love to see these two hang out more often.

Rihanna at the NRJ Awards in France- Stunning!

Filed under: Amber Rose, Rihanna — ladolcevitainfo @ 5:33 am

The Golden Globe Red Carpet was a snooze fest, and I didn’t really break my neck at the fashion on tonight’s SAG Awards, but you can always count on my girl to keep things interesting and fun. Rihanna won for female artist of the year in Cannes, France tonight at the NRJ Awards and she looked absolutely stunning in an elegant cream lace gown, with a silver slip. Her gown is by Jean Paul Gaultier. Those huge teardrop earrings are gaga-gorgeous! Lace and peek-a-boo cutouts are really trendy as of late and work best when little is exposed and leave most to the imagination, so take note:

Way to Do it Right:

Way to Do it Wrong:

Yes I went there. What in the Hell is wrong with Amber Rose?

Anyway, Rihanna’s make-up is flawless and her hair looks great. She’s owning her style now and has come along way. I can’t wait to see what she wears to the Grammy’s.

Rihanna’s Fierce Shoot for W Magazine February 2010 Issue

Filed under: Craig McDean, Lori Goldstein, Rihanna, W magazine — ladolcevitainfo @ 10:01 pm

Now everyone knows that I am the hugest Rihanna fan. I am also a fan of surprises. Imagine how I felt waking up to learn that Rihanna is covering the new issue of W Magazine (usually I’m up on my game but this one snuck by :p). Needless to say I love the spread! She is rocking the same skin-tight cut-out Gucci dress that Jennifer Lopez wore to the AMA’s, but I think she owns this look! Check out the pics for yourself.

Rihanna was shot by Craig McDean and styled by Lori Goldstein. I really like how the stylist toned down her usually overt dominatrix-y look in exchange for subtle sexiness.

"And I’m Rock this Sh*t Like Fashion…."

Filed under: events, Rihanna, Rihanna Concert at the Hammerstein Ballroom — ladolcevitainfo @ 7:12 pm
My runway never look so clear,
but the hottest the hottest bitch in heels in here,
are the words uttered by the beautiful Rihanna on her latest single “Hard.”
I was lucky enough to see the pop princess, turned Good Girl Gone Bad, turn dark, menacing, Rock-Pop vixen, in person at her concert last night at the Hammerstein Ballroom in NYC. I was one of the first people to get in and stood a few feet away from Rih as she belted out her famous hits. Now I know some of you are not Rihanna fans, and that is okay. I’m not going to get into the debate about Chris Brown and who’s right or wrong, because I’m hooked on the music. While I love Beyonce, I love Rihanna as well because she brings a different sound, and image to music and I appreciate her for being unique and true to herself. Rihanna came out of the middle of the floor wearing a silver futuristic, cave girl inspired outfit. It was a one-piece body suit, with epaulets, scales, and eccentric boning along her ribcage, which leads me to believe it was either Balmain or something from Lady Gaga’s closet. She went in for 40 mins, playfully strutting on stage, flipping her hand, sticking her tongue out and pretty much saying eff the haters. I had a blast last night!! Went though hell to get tickets but in the end it was all worth it. Check out the images below.  I know the images are a bit grainy, but this Christmas, I am going to invest in a better camera lol; I just wanted to show you some images from the audience’s view.

Rihanna is a Nasty Gal!

Filed under: Rihanna, Shop Nasty Gal — ladolcevitainfo @ 6:33 am
I knew I’d seen that dress before! Rihanna was spotted posing for paps after her performance at the Brixton Academy in London. Shopnastygal, one of the best online vintage boutiques, blogged that they will be stocking this Funktional dress tomorrow! Rihanna is known for blowing thousands on her wardrobe so it’s good to see her switch it up for a change.

Psst! By the way, I scored these black, velvet studded pumps for less than $50 today on their site!

Can’t wait ’til they come in. Oh and I’m currently bidding on the perfect dress to match (classified info until I win, you might outbid me!) with them on Ebay. *Fingers Crossed*
**Update**

Check out Ciara in her Loubs! Doesn’t her gams look hot!  That’s the look I’m going for, minus the hefty price tag! :)

Glamour Magazine’s 2009 Women of the Year Awards

Now I know I’m a few days late, but life’s been hectic and I just feel like this deserves a post. A couple nights ago Glamour Magazine held its annual Women of the Year of Awards honoring celebs like Rihanna, tennis star Serena Williams, and Kerry Washington. It was indeed a night of glamour and celebration. I’m so jealous, I have to find out how to get tickets next year.  So you know what we do here.

Stylist to the stars June Ambrose looked drop dead gorgeous in a pale pink sequined pallated mini, which I’m sure has to be vintage. She matched it up with light grey heels. Now that’s what I call behind the scenes beauty! Veteran African model Alex Wek, who is also one of my favs wore this awesome silver slinky frock, which gives her skin an awesome glow.

Zoe Kravitz is also one of my favorites. Her style is usually boho-hippy, I just don’t care, I can put anything on and still look gorgeous. I do think she actually put some thought into this look though. The turquoise leather jacket just pops against her creamy skin. I love it! Rachel Roy is known for rocking her head to toe looks on the red carpet. Shouldn’t every design promote themselves? I think Rachel’s style goes beyond the clothes, because she owns it every time and just makes you want to ransack her closet. Speaking of promotion, Tyra Banks wore this nude dress from by the Rachel Roy collection.

Model, Liya Kebede is wearing a gorgeous tuxedo style Stella McCartney jacket dress. I think this looks suits her. :)  Laura Ling and Euna Lee look amazing after the tumultous year they’ve been through. I love Euna’s crimson frock.

Serena has stepped it up tremendously in the glam department. She is wearing a gorgeous fire red Pamela Rolland gown. I love Amy Poehler. She just has a baby last year and looks amazing in the nude lacey dress. Chic simplicity!
Kerry Washington is someone I absolutely love to death, but I think she went a little to vintage. I’m seeing Rachel Zoe 2.1, so this is not one of my fav looks from the movie starlet. Supermodel, Iman is a knockout in Jason Wu! Does she ever age? I mean seriously, what is her beauty regimen.
Woman of the night, Rihanna was honored for her work with Domestic Violence. I’m not sure doing what, since she’s been silent most of the year after the Chris Brown debacle but I guess it was something behind the scenes. lol. Either way she looks stunning and is a knock out in this cream, pleated Stephane Rolland gown. It’s a much needed departure, from her battered and bruise edgy style and I like it. This dress is a winner from the intricate folds of the pleats, the fish tail him, the sheer cutouts and air tight fit. She rocked it hands down!

So who was your favorite?

Wait Your Turn!

Filed under: Rihanna — ladolcevitainfo @ 6:38 pm
Ha! Last month I did a post on Princess Rih Rih, exiting a hotel in New York rocking a heavy Rick Owens leather jacket, these exact torn jeans with a different pair of fishnets underneath. A month later we get to see what it’s for! If you don’t remember the post it’s HERE. She’s a gorgeous girl. I’m glad to see her moving forward. Here’s to Rih putting the Chris Brown fiasco behind her for good. Wait your turn!

I Still Can’t Get Over…

This look. From the torn, loose fit, dark washed denim, big fishnet stockings and of course that signature Rick Owens leather and by golly I don’t even mine the slicked back blonde streaked hair. 5 stars Rih! You are at your best relaxed and when you don’t try so hard. Now about that album…

Gareth Pugh Spring 2010 Runway Show

Filed under: Daphne Guinness, Fashion Week, Gareth Pugh, Paris Fashion Week, Rihanna, Spring 2010 — ladolcevitainfo @ 5:30 pm

The king of avant garde, the purveyor of edge, Gareth Pugh showcased his Spring 2010 Runway show last night at Paris Fashion Week. Notable for his ribbing and extremely boxy shapes, using black and white, and overall robotic feel, Pugh strayed from his usual bold style and strict color pallet. Not sure if it has anything to do with the current wave of nudes sweeping through all the Spring 2010 collections, but the designer selected a softer pallet and the collection was more fluid. Still one to stand out from the pack, Pugh used different shades of grey from soft steel and smoke. The models struck me as survivors emerging from an explosion with powdery dark ash makeup. Needless to say, I loved the collection.

Rihanna and Daphne Guinness sat front row

Karlie Kloss opened the show in a soft grey belted trench with a hood. Here are a few of my favorite picks.
